@italo36 Steffi made herself guilty after the fact, by playing the final against Sanchez the next day.Thank God she lost.Had she won,what kind of message would that have sent to other crazies who might have decided to "help" their favorite player the same way?Steffi claimed she didn't want to let down the tournament promoters.That's pretty lame.They could have cancelled the final & played an exibition.That would have satisfied everybody & would have been the proper response to this atrocity.

thanks, too bad Graf fans try to deny that the stabbing ever happened or that Steffi would still have won 22 slams had Seles not been stabbed, it is very insulting to the tennis community, to Monica and to her fans when Graf fans talk like that and Steffi has never ever spoke about Monica's stabbing in regards to helping her career, she just avoids it and Monica said that Steffi would never call or ask how she was doing during her 2.5 years off the tour, it speaks volumes.

@italo36 I couldn't agree more with you my friend. It still makes me sad to watch her matches after the comeback. Even with being overweight and not properly fit she still won one grand slam and other titles. In addition, she beat everyone there was to beat including Serena, Venus, Henin etc..... Monica was the best player I ever seen playing.

The good old times when Monica was fit and so aggresive and fearless which made her close to unbeatable until that faithful day in Germany when she was stabbed by a Graf fan

Graf's second period of dominance was right after the Seles stabbing and you are right it is not Graf's fault howerer Graf should have been more supportive towards Monica as Monica told the media once, ''Steffi has not even sent me a get well card'' in reference to Seles's 2 year disappearance from the tour and then Seles would never be the same when she came back as she was always out of shape or injured for the majority on the remainder of her career

Ah Monica so fit and so aggressive and she was called the ''Monica machine'' and then that awful stabbing incident which would ruin her career much to the benefit of Steffi Graf
