  • I've been given the last few scenes for my drama performance. Bit annoyed that it doesn't stick to the original script or plot in some places but then i suppose that's what happens isn't it?

  • @treepig14 Yes that can happen quite often when going from stage to screen or from book to screen, but don't you think the performances by the main characters are brilliant?.

  • I seen this film about 20 years ago & had forgot what a wonderfull film it is . Great story line around a low class woman who goes with a kaffir man... Great upload thank you

  • @Timmerjax I doubt a film like this could ever be made in America now.....you hardly ever see the mixing of races in American films...still sticks in their teeth....

This is a brilliant film and I thank you for giving us such a privilege in seeing it here is such a crisp, clear print.

  • I "stumbled" upon this film one night while channel surfing. It's a testament to Rita Tushingham that I couldn't seem to go any further. Her face is at once beautiful and uniquely captivating. I was mesmorized by the story and the friendship/ love affair that developed between the characters Jo and Jeffrey. It was so pure and beautiful and touching that the ending had my guts taking a deep-six plunge. I felt so bad for Jeffrey and had a mix of sadness for Jo, but a hope that maybe Jo and...

  • I'm really just nit-picking here, I really enjoyed the film, but is there not a scene in which she actually has the baby? Thankyou for uploading all the same. :)

  • Thank you so very much for posting this. It's not out on DVD or at least I can never find it and this was such treasure to find here. I will be reading the play over the weekend. Thank you!!!

  • Thanks :) was great in helping me get a better understanding as I was finding it difficult just reading the text. Hopefully I wont suck in English tomorrow now haha
