It is a fast and easy way to create a realistic cloudy sky with watercolours.

You will need sturdy watercolour paper, kitchen paper, medium size brush and watercolours or inks.

Pre-mix washes in blue, red, brownish yellow and then mix something of each together to get a matching grey for cloud shadows.

It is always better to test your washes on watecolour paper first. Remember, they need to be stronger than you think as watercolours dry lighter.

  • Your tutorials are always amazing. You are such an inspiration. Thank you so much. I have tried to make realistic clouds so many times and I am never happy with it. Guess what I will be doing tomorrow? TFS
