  • oh fury, I knew I could count on you to tell it like it is and not be swayed by the popular consensus. it seems like people have strong opinions about this movie and if they like it, they really like it and can't stand hearing any criticism of the film. What irked me about this movie is that it was a whole lot of nothing. Just alot of suspense and build up and when it finished, i just shrugged my shoulders. The first scene was the best and most brilliantly done. after that, it was a let down

  • =) thanks!

  • Fury, I whole-heartedly disagree. When I first saw it, I had kind of the same viewpoints as you did, but after watching it two more times, I came to appreciate it. Just because it's not the movie that you expected doesn't mean it's not as great as it is. Now, you say the dialougue doesn't really develop any of the characters or forward the story, but I disagree. The opening scene with Hans Landa really developed his character.

  • @StuffedBurritoEnt indeed!

  • @StuffedBurritoEnt And for anyone who may read this in the future, take note: This is how grown and mature people debate.

  • I don't even understand why received hate for this review. You make some valid points and it's not like you're ranting like some raving idiot saying "it's boring, it sucks!" Of course I have to disagree with you for the most part because I really liked them film and actually wasn't bored with it at all. However, I do agree immensely that it doesn't deliver on the thrills that were promised and even though I liked the story of Shoshanna, I wanted to see more of the Basterds.

  • I really try to avoid frying other people's opinions, but this just stung. This movie was one of his greatest! Though the dialogue does drag on a tad, it's part of Tarantino's charm. People who say that movies are too long to watch have film-oriented ADHD. I will admit thatTarantino movies are an aquired taste. Even so, it is impossible to disagree that he is not a good writer. My main problem is that you told him to have others direct for him. No one can deliver his movies the right way.

  • @layoffThaBongPipe He's not wrong. He just has a different opinion.

  • I loved this movie. I can see what you mean, anout the slowness of the dialogue, but it was so suspensefull and glorious that I couldn't not listen. I knew something would happen knowing Terentino, that's what made it so suspensefull. Plus the violence, oh man the violence was just something else man. You make good points, and I can see your reasoning, but I thought it was wonderfully written, with a great mix of gritiness and humor.

  • I really enjoyed IGB, your points I agree with, however I reckon I saw shallow side. Cheap comedy and effects with comic timing, direct no transition cuts and mindless senseless violence where everyone dies in 10 seconds.

Quentin Tarantino's work is brilliant. And while I love the film, your right.

  • @layoffThaBongPipe i agree with you

  • Last time he gave his screenplay to another director, we got the decidedly non-Tarantino flavored "True Romance" and "Natural Born Killers/" Think about how awesome those two could've been if he had directed them.
