    A.) Those who know, don't comment. Those who think they know only comment on others.

  • yes, he was an intelligent man. he was also troubled by the times, the death of parents. he was also very intolerant of the views of other zen teachers, going so far as to take a saw and cut out the sitting places of whoever it was he didn't like at the monastery. people went into monasteries for economic reasons, lack of money etc. don't buy this altruistic approach at all. a great man, but also an intolerant and bordering on bigot
