Just re-read Dee Brown's book The Fetterman Massacre. I've known the story since I was a kid and have always had an avid interest in the "Wild west". What a story . Thanks to Utube can now see places I'm not likely to get to see in person. The fort Phil Kearny tale is one of incredible courage and endurance. I recommend Dee Browns book.

VERY good video. We visited Fort Phil Kearney in July 2007. I'd never heard of it but my Dad had read a book about it and as we happened to be in the vicinity (all the way from the UK/France), we thought we might go and have a look. It is well worth visiting. Superb landscape too. The rodeos in nearby Buffalo are also worth going to.
