@bisexualbuffthug It makes all the difference actually. It's why Street Fighter 2 CE didn't look as good as it's SNES and Genesis counterparts, though admittedly they did well with what they had.

I really loved the music in Super Darius, and the HuCard sound is just as lovely. Graphically, there isn't much of a difference from the Super CD-ROM 2 game. Ahh...It would definitely be nice to be able to play this game, but I would need a region converter for my TurboGrafx-16 first as it never came out in the US (it unfortunate, though).

It makes no difference. Video games are video games wether they be 4-bit or whatever bit. People have been so quick to cut down the pc engine without giving it a second chance. Pc engine also does great simulated scaling.

about the music, it's a remixed version of the theme of a not too well known 1984 taito game called Metal Soldier Isaac II

Great series, one of Taito's best shmups this side of Metal Black, and the Turbo Duo had great ports of Darius 1 and 2.

It's actually using sprites to simulate the second background layer.
