Kenneth Clark's "Civilisation" - The Pursuit of Happiness - Lord Clark reflects on the nature of 18th century music, the work of Bach, Handel, Haydn, and Mozart, and - after discussing the painter Watteau - considers that some of its qualities are found in Rococo architecture.
@ChristopherGurin I love this too Christopher. And he did indeed have wonderful humor. The American tourist takes his tour through the museums, sees the wonders of European art, and gushes about how wonderful it all is. Gee whiz.....Oh golly gee! On the other hand, Lord Clark knows what's truly great and what's glossy trash. And then he casts his critical eye over the truly great and tells us its shortcomings. Wonderful!....The academic at work.

I always liked this series, particularly when he would spend an hour extolling the virtues of some art movement, then spend the last five minutes ripping into it. Terrific dry English humor.
