From the heart of China's drug epidemic comes Using, the story of a journalist and an addict, who - despite all odds - develop a relationship of mutual dependency. We follow Ah Long through detox, dealing and relapse, to a conclusion the filmmaker could never have anticipated. Few docs have come so close to the bone.

  • i used to use everything i could get my hands on for almost 20 years.Been clean for 2.Life is good, hard but...

  • Heroin is HORRIBLE. It's the king kong of all drugs. It turns people into human zombies. Once infected, you'll commit crimes to support the dirty habit.

  • @SLAKILLA Not everyone commits crimes for it. When people say that is just sounds stupid...Id be willing to bet that a very small portion of people who use commit crimes for it. ( at least in the USA.)

  • If anyone is addicted to heroin first go into detox and quit then use naltraxone for 3 years. Don't miss a day like I did and you will get clean. Life is great without drugs, I know it, but it's a whole lot boring too lols. Depends if you can keep busy though

  • @SamBrown1900 I injected H for 7 years and it almost killed me. I'm 8 years clean, I work long hours and physically very demanding and keep busy by working a lot. I'ts stil on my mind to this day after 8 years

  • @SLAKILLA That's a bunch of bullshit. You cannot lump everyone into that category. I have been addicted since 2002 and I have never done a single crime to support my habit. I have been working a normal job and it has never affected my life negatively at all. I cannot say the same for everyone. People are only exposed to the worse examples, you never hear about people living normal lives addicted.

People view heroin addiction negatively because of ignorant and close views like yoursminded

  • Correct!

Opium was brought in to China by the British. Hong Kong became a colony of the British Empire after the First Opium War (18391842), and then in 1898 expanded onto the mainland and northern island. Followed by Japanese invation.

It is sad to see people hook on drug... it destroy not only the drug oneself but also the love one around them.

Drug has it medicinal uses and should be only use is as such.

  • Drugs are what you get with "prosperity" and the loss of it.

  • china had 20 million opium addicts in 1920...

  • yeah, but china went through the "cultural" revolution of communism. they dont like their people consuming drugs.

  • When the Chinese first came to America to work on the Rail Roads they started setting up Opium Dens that's why we banned them plus they were flooding America's west coast in vast numbers

  • i hear u. i was a suscriber back when they had less then 500 suscribers... now they seem to make ppl pay for the quality stories.
