More people are finding themselves living in their vehicles because of the foreclosure crisis. Santa Barbara, California is taking a novel approach to the growing number of homeless people in the area. Every evening, a dozen private and municipal parking lots throughout the city are transformed into relatively safe outdoor lodging for some of the estimated 300 people who are now homeless and living out of their cars. From the series the Changing Face of Homelessness.

  • "One day it might be them" The problem with that statement is the sheeple mentality of Americans. They don't think it could EVER be them so they continue status quo of treating everyone less fortunate than they are like scum. Sad world we live in isn't it.

  • @Godthug , Actually you are the worthless one! Grant it, people don't become homeless overnight, but they definately can become homeless with-in 1 month ( Especially if they are living on minimum wage! ) Most people have less then $2K in savings - How long do you actually think $2K is going to last you if you lost your income?

Homelessness isn't the problem when people like you think your superior. THAT makes YOU the problem!

  • You just don't "become" homeless overnight. Don't make anyone think that. Those people are worthless and they deserve no more.

  • Proof not every homeless person is on drugs, alcohol, and/or mentally ill.
