The 6 people who disliked this are jealous they don't look good in purple pants.

I think if Gilbert and Sullivan had seen this version, they would have been throughly impressed.

I saw this live, I was four years old and it basically shaped my life.

I don´t like "modernizing" of classical music. But this is good.

@vulpecula999 Chill out - you forget - G& S were unconventional themselves; I wonder how many called their operettas blasphemous...by the way, you were never a schoolchild?

Well that was fun. I enjoyed Pirates a lot more than their Mikado. I don't like the trio replacing the women's chorus - but it worked better in Pirates than in Mikado. The cast is outstanding though. Jon English is also much better as the Pirate King than as Poo-Bah. What role does he play in Pinafore? I would enjoy seeing that production if you have time to upload. Thanks for sharing. These productions are really fun.

No curtain call I've ever seen in my life is better than this one.
What a finale! I have seen Pirates many times and I have no objection at all to this wild treatment especially with such a perfect Mabel!

That is by far and a way and without a shadow of doubt... the most bizarre finale I have ever seen.
