Brad Meltzer's Decoded - DB Cooper part 1

Ep. 6 "D.B. Cooper" January 6, 2011
Brad Meltzer and the team jump at the chance to take on one of the FBI's most
puzzling unsolved crimes: the 1971 disappearance of airline skyjacker D.B.
Cooper, who bailed out of a jetliner at ten thousand feet over Washington state
with two parachutes and two hundred thousand dollars in ransom money strapped to
his body. Working closely with the former FBI agent who headed up the
unsuccessful search for Cooper, Brad and the team examine new evidence that
points to a former airline employee named Kenny Christiansen, whose own brother
suspects he was actually the skyjacker who called himself D.B. Cooper. This sets
up a climactic meeting between the Decoded team and Christensen's possible
accomplice, the man who may have helped D.B. Cooper and his two hundred thousand
dollar ransom vanish into thin air.

A couple of corrections to the comments below. I intended to write SSW. And excuse me for misspelling Meltzer's name. Also, the orientation of the W. Washington and NW Oregon valley is SSW. I beleive the Jet flew in the center of this trough to avoid turblance from the mountains. It was a stormy night and winds over or near the cascades at 10,000 ft would be treacherous. It would not have made sense for the jet to veer sharply east towards the cascades as it reached Portland.

Some things to think about. Go to Google Earth. Use the ruler tool. Draw a straight line from Sea Tac airport to Salem, Oregon which is approximately where the plane turned south east crossing the cascades. The path takes you over Woodland, Wa. which is confirmed by the Pilot marking his map. It then goes over the Tena Bar where latest tests confirm the found money could have remained since 1971. I don't believe the jet did a sharp turn heading east around Portland. I believe it continued SSE.

Brad Melter apparently hadn't read or cared about pertinent information. This show is about entertainment. The flight path is no longer believed to have been over Ariel, Washington but ten miles to the West near Woodland, next to the Columbia. Three minutes flight time SSE of there is the Tena Bar where the money was found. The best article about this is on trutv by David Krajicek. Google it. Some of you are saying there are lies being told here. What are the examples of the lies? He didnt use an atache case? Witnesses didnt give that description? This guy didnt work for NW? That wasnt a paratrooper in the armed forces?

What are the actual lies they are saying here. I am sure it is call bull shit. It is the History Channel and they are about sensationalism. What are the actual lies?

I like a lot of the circumstantial evidence against Kenny, but they forgot some things. The bank account that had the $186,000. How was it opened? With the marked $20's? Check from money rinsed? Where did he get that dough, if it wasn't the stolen money? Life Insurance? Need more investigating here.

Florence Shafner, a stewardess on the flight and one of the few to have face to face time with DB Cooper during the hijacking said he had brown eyes, dark brown eyebrows. She actually had the famous FBI sketch redone, because she said it didnt look like the real guy. If you look up Unsolved Mysteries: DB Cooper here on youtube, you can see the new sketch...Looks just like the guy in this video at 1:13. Cheeks, nose, eyes...T-zone is spot on. Part 2 6:13
