This is the segmented (by level) LBP speed run I've been working on for the past few weeks. It was annoying at times, but I'm glad I did it. I use a few tricks that put me past a lot of the other speed runs put up here on youtube.

-- Notes --
I list the level name and the time I took to complete the level next to it.

Introduction (2:26)
-I measure the time I took to complete the level from when I pop out of the checkpoint to when the last video stops. On all other level's it's measured from when I pop out to when I reach the scoreboard.
-Nothing really to say here. Just hold right and jump when you have to to keep moving. The only time you really have to slow down to go faster is at the stairs after you learn about costumes.
-Also, if you jump at the right times when going downhill you get a small speed boost, which helps slightly.

First Steps (1:27)
-I noticed that if you jump right before the characters speak and close out of the speech bubble before landing, you lose no speed. I do this throughout the run.
-Otherwise, the level is pretty straightforward. Just cut corners to save time.
-Sorry for the random blackness between segments. Idk what that is.

Get a Grip (1:42)
-At the end of the race, if you switch layers right before the horse stops, your speed will drag you and allow you to make it to the scoreboard quickly in one hop.

Skate to Victory (2:02)
-Normally, the last windmill doesn't give you enough momentum to make it as far as I did. But I found out that if you jump in the opposite direction of the sponge, the sponge will sort of jerk you back. If you let go at the right time during this jerk, the extra force of the jerk will let you fly a lot further, which allows you to fly past the mountain and water wheel at the bottom. One time I completely cleared the mountain and landed on the ledge near the tutorial lady.
-When you get the jetpack, instead of putting all the weights in the box, you can fly down in the box and push it down, which lets you fly into the castle much quicker.
-Again, switching layers off the skateboard at the end gives you a speed boost.

Swinging Safari (1:19)
-This one was pretty easy and straightforward. I skip a couple swinging things to keep up my speed.
-You can stay in a different layer to avoid the buffalo during the race.

Burning Forest (1:27)
-I use the crocodile's jaw to launch me up to the branches because I'm pretty sure running on the branches is faster than swinging. However the jaw thing is so freaking random and annoying. One time I managed to get launched off, bounce off the tree to the left, and completely clear the pit in a matter of about 3 seconds. But I only did that once and I screwed up the rest of the level pretty bad, so I didn't keep it.

The Meerkat Kingdom (0:31)
-The way I get behind the level was found by CandlePantsOrg. There's a small space in front of the race start gate that lets you switch to the second layer. Once you're behind the rocks, you can switch to the back layer; otherwise you'll fall back into the level a little after the finish gate. This shortcut saves a ton of time.

Total time (levels only): 1:01:25
Total time (including menu, scoreboard, and loading time): 1:19:09
