"FAMILY DAY" --yet another way for Ontario's temporary workers and the working poor to be exploited while fatcats get a paid-holiday or working with overtime, such as time-and-a-half, or double-overtime or double-overtime-and-a-half or triple-overtime or...

"Tempers Flare As Temp Workers Protest Family Day 'Unfairness'
Friday February 15, 2008
CityNews.ca Staff
A hot topic reached a boiling point on Friday, as temp workers flooded a local office tower to complain about the latest Liberal policy.
Family Day has caused chaos for stores, businesses, and attractions. The rules on what's open and who'll be at the office are confusing, to say the least. Premier Dalton McGuinty's first act after re-election was to create a new holiday in February. But was it too much, too fast, too soon?
One group certainly thinks so. Temporary employees make up 40 per cent of Ontario's workforce, but they receive no benefits or overtime. They want bonus pay on Family Day, a perk only staff workers get.
More than thirty members of the Worker's Action Centre stormed the temp office to demand compensation. A security guard quickly became angry. He asked the leader, Deena Ladd, to get the protesters out of the building. She said she would. But he wouldn't wait, shouting, "Get out of the building! Now!"
The security guard said he would allow one representative upstairs, but only if the others left. The group then broke into chants of "Pay us now! Pay us now!"
Eventually, the party moved to the street, where Ladd spoke her piece. "We're saying to the government that they really need to be paying attention to this, because as more and more workers are in these unstable forms of jobs, more and more workers are not being paid these types of statutory benefits," she said.
With no resolution likely before Monday morning, many workers will be left with a tough decision: regular pay, or no paycheque at all."
Politicians --Champions of the Affluent and Well-Connected.
Ontario is the most dangerous place in the WORLD to raise a family. If you are a divorced father, you will lose everything! EVERYTHING! You will be taxed on 70++% of your income, your house, savings and children will all be taken, and you will be jailed if you lose your job or go bankrupt. Their enforcement agency FRO is run by foreign born nationals, who are criminal and merciless.
This is no joke.
