A short film documenting a flashmob in Edinburgh, Scotland. There were about 40 people that took part in the event. The event was organised by Josie O'Donnell. The video was edited by Oliver Watson and Michael Dodds. Music: The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger & Chumbawamba - Tubthumping.

@Marrilandimpersanter Funnily enough, this is actually a flashmob. Nowhere in the rules for a flashmob does it state you can't have a whistle blow to mark the start and/or end of a flashmob.

@Marrilandimpersanter Yeahhhhhh because all the people in the area were totally expecting a whistle to be blown and then for everyone to just drop to the floor. That wasn't surprising at all. Seriously though, maybe it could have been more shocking if we didn't have a whistle but this was our first flashmob so we can always learn for next time.

@TequilaAssassin4eva It's a flashmob, so yes in a sense it is an artform. I don't see how you got from the video that everyone that took part was bored or jobless because I can assure that was not the case. Also do you think that people were really just lying down on the ground for a rest? That's hardly going to be the case is it? You clearly need to watch the whole video and not just skip to the middle. And of course you can't be arrested for it! We didn't do anything wrong!

@figgy1027 yeah lying down in a public square. It's a very busy spot which we chose for a reason - it's busy so more people will see it and then possibly join in. Creative? Yeah it is actually creative thanks for noticing the fact we actually spent time organising the event and then putting together a film for it. As for whether or not it was art is your own opinion just like with other pieces of art. We clearly aren't lazy having actually made a video. Where is your super creative flashmob?
