  • WHAT?!?!?! the dems are the hate filled party? LOL. You people can go to such great lengths to avoid and revise reality.

    Perfectly Orwellian.

  • Yes, why do you think they represent themselves with a dumb mule-for idiots like yourself. If you did one ounce of research, you would find that the Civil Rights Act was passed by the Republicans-about 30% of the Democrats voted against it.

  • Both Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King were Republicans.

  • The Congressional Quarterly of June 26, 1964 (p. 1323) recorded that, in the Senate, only 69% of Democrats (46 for, 21 against) voted for the Civil Rights Act as compared to 82% of Republicans (27 for, 6 against). All southern Democratic senators voted against the Act. In the House, 61% of Democrats (152 for, 96 against) voted for the Civil Rights Act; 92 of the 103 southern Democrats voted against it. Among Republicans, 80% voted for it (138 for, 34 against) .

  • @tristramshandy3 Pick up a history book. The only historical revision came via the "dems"

  • @rashadkijani, Look at the numbers. The Democrats were in control of Congress, holding the most seats in both the House and the Senate. If the Democrats really wanted to pass this bill, as so many Blacks believe, they could have passed it without one Republican vote. If it was left up to the Democrats alone, the bill would have never passed.

  • @chatter418 How can you say if not for the republican votes? if the dems who voted for it didnt vote it wouldnt have passed either.

  • @tristramshandy3, Bigone is correct, The Democrats held a majority in both the House and the Senate, just as they do today, and if it was not for the Republican votes, the Civil Rights Act would not have passed, because so many Democrats voted NO, The Democrats have told their lies so long that they now believe them, but, figures don't lie. The Democratic mascot was originally called a jackass.

  • yes, lets let in billions of third world people so we can be a third world country . sounds good to third world people
