@TheyCallHimRalston any team can use the injuries excuse. every time we ever get beaten its, 'ohh geelong are fucked, their reign is over.' every time we win its, 'oh well the other team had injuries.'

@VioIentGoIdFish clearly u didnt think cause the fact it did, that year hawks had the smallest list of any team and hawks injuries result in only 2 players to be able to play every game the lowest in the afl. besides the next season has nothing to do with 2008 season hawthorn won because they were the better team on the day and was one of the best all season.

@TheyCallHimRalston i think the thing thats probably so bitter for us cats supporters is that if hawthorn were so good that day, why did they fail to make the 8 the following year. i mean sure, hawks were better on the day, but i didnt think their team changed significantly enough the following year for them to not make the granny again

@VioIentGoIdFish and im talking about hawks pressure all round the ground that led to geelong making errors all round the ground, geelong were plain out played everyone knows it. just people looking for others to blame think otherwise

@VioIentGoIdFish im not talking about geelongs forward pressure which has always been good, but did u not think that the reason we were alble to rusk was because our pressure won us the ball even if it was on the last line of defence, ur acting as if we got the ball 30 out and ran it all the way, we rush we just won the won metres from the line and any team in that situation would rather than risk getting a goal against them.

The fact is that this particular clip was taken when the AFL was known as the VFL...... The name change occurred in 1990. The year Collingwood defeated Essendon in the AFL Grand Final. Hawthorn beat Geelong in the 1989 Grand Final when it was still known as the VFL.
