@suctionplease no, it has a built in microphone. if ur only thinking of filming, i wouldn't recommend this camera, although it is really good quality, it lacks features that most camcorders have. but if ur also intesrested in photography, go for it :)

Pretty cool...nice house too. Does the Nikon d5000 have a separate audio-in for video recording? I'm looking for a new vid cam, but just might go with this one. Cheers, Dan in Winnipeg
