Tested out my new 5.75 widescan for my Tejon today and let me tell you, it made a giant improvement on performance. Minerilized conditions now nutralized and able to go much deeper than the standard coil on these grounds. And what do you know? I hit on a Canadian 1943 .800 Silver Half Dollar. And that was aout 8 inches deep in bad soil !

  • How you doin? Thanks for the nice comment. One piece of advice; never go on someone's property without concent. Can be very dangerous. First try out some local parks when you recieve your new detector. There you can get familiar with your machine. When you finally feel comfortable with it knowing how all the features work, then you can go find some older grounds to scout. You don't want to find these rare sites and not know how to use your detector to pull up those older coins. Good luck!

  • Good find man. I'm waiting for my metal detector to come anytime now by ups.

I could use as much advice as anyone can give me here. I know of some good old historic place here in AZ, but I'm afraid if I go to ask permission they will turn me down, so should I just go at night & try not to get cought I know there are gonna be awesome finds there but???? I can use some advice.

  • Great find, & yes Jesus Christ is the treasure. Do you go at night because they give you a hard time during the day? I need to know because I'm gonna start soon as my metal detector comes by UPS. I all ready received my pinpointer yesterday. Can't wait to get out there & start hunting. Anyone feel free to give me some advice. I was wanting to go to some historical sites, but I'm afraid they will tell me no.
