Since I was late on my usual Sat/Sun video, and because a few of you have asked for more songs, here you go! (Oh, also, have my last name.)

This again: Copyright Bryarly Bishop, 2011. All Rights Reserved.

I wrote this about a year and a half ago. Here are the lyrics:

I'm planning on selling my heart
I'm giving up every part
It's no longer open; it's no longer vacant
I'm planning on selling my heart

The pieces I'll put in a jar
I'll burn them and scatter them far
And wherever they land, there they'll grind into sand
The pieces I'll put in a jar

For the rest, I'll just put it on sale
Take a sign and some paint and a nail
One heart -slightly battered - but well worth the tale
For the rest, I'll just put it on sale

I'm not surprised that it gave up the ghost
Like a soldier abandoning a long-held post
I'm not shocked that it quit, I just wanted to say:
It was good, it was strong in its day

In the hole I'll plant roses in June
Hang a sign on the edge of the moon
Saying, "Sorry I loved you - it ended so soon."
In the hole I'll plant roses in June

It's fine to abandon my heart
I never needed it anyway
And I can't get you out of my heart
And I never needed it anyway

I'm not surprised it gave up in the end
To lose not a love, but also a friend
I'm not shocked that it quit, I just wanted to say:
It was good, it was strong, in its day.

If you're in the market for hearts,
Or in need of a second-hand part
I've no use for mine; I can get along fine
I'm planning on selling my heart.

  • what type of guitar is this?

  • @iloveyou58121 That is a Greg Bennett Continental Acoustic.

  • @godsteeth1911 is it a good beginners guitar?

  • @iloveyou58121 I think I would recommend a Taylor - mainly you want to make sure that it's small enough to fit you comfortably and that the strings' gauge isn't too heavy. I like it because I think it has a nice sound, but it's a little big for me. If I were to buy a new guitar, I'd choose a smaller, lighter one.

  • I want more songs from you! Please?

  • @Rhiannonableful Just let me conquer the tonsillitis.

  • @David1sBored If I recall correctly, this is the first time that someone has quoted from one of my videos onto another one of my videos. I'm sort of flattered.

  • @RyanBedecki No.

  • Epic song. Not at all my sort of music, but I love it. Made even better by the smile at the end =P

  • wowwww, well done xx

  • :O Practice a lil' more.

  • a girl at my school sung this and she said it was an original??

  • Beautiful.

  • I have the same capo as you! :o

  • beautiful song :O

  • Downloaded it... my new fave. :)

  • You should consider getting someone else to play guitar for you while you sing because I can hear that you have a nice voice but i'm really distracted by the guitar and I think you'd be suprised how much your vocals would improve if you weren't playing guitar aswell. :)

  • This is an amazing song...it's really original and personal. I love it!
