@yesrossyes I watched both performances side by side and I have determined that you may be right. In 1987 she wears it off her right shoulder, my first indicator that it was a different dress. But at the end she wears it on the shoulder, like in this clip. In '87 it was shinier and deeper in color but it may have faded. Why would I not believe it's Mackie? It probably is. Let's hope she does an exhibit of her costumes for us fans to see!

@SpazChat More liberal than whom? She wore the first version in the USA. It's not something she did for the European audiences, if that's what you're implying.

@pnyc1969 This dress and performance is more saucy for a more liberal audience. Diana definitely gets the specific commercial market thing. That's one of the reason's she's so wealthy

I like the way the band interprets this song here, much better than the record.

pnyc1969 - This is the answer: It is the exact same that she wore on AMA. The dress was designed to be 'supreme ' when she performed on the AMA. More imporantantly it is a costume - full of rich color (won't fade in the camera), durable, and made to last for years. On AMA she wore pink to stand out amongst the many performers on stage with her. Believe it or not it one of Bob's originals for her. Yes! It cost $3,800. Therefore, though years later - one must get their monies worth.

@pnyc1969 The style fits the song because she can twirl like Marilyn Monroe and show her panties.
