Arcade Fire's third album 'The Suburbs' dares every one of us to think about where we've come from and who we are. Halfway through the album, 'Suburban War' relays the turbulence of growing up and out of the suburbs. Starting slow the song with contemplates that 'the cities we live in, could be distant stars'.
3:00 minutes in, the tempo changes, the beat picks up and the refrain switches to a lament 'All my old friends, they don't know me now. All my old friends, are staring through me now'
This music video is the director's first foray into film-making, shot as a 90 second test... The first 3:00 are tacked on for the full song. The shorter version is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG1rudi_wbQ
Shot on a Canon 5d Mark II using a 50mm F1.2L - lesson learnt - don't try manually focussing a moving object, from a moving car, at F1.2!!

This reminds me of Massive Attack's Angel. However, Angel had a better ending. Just saying.
