"The Old Castle" from Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition". The castle in the slideshow is called "Loevestein" and is near the city "Gorinchem" in Holland.

im playing the old castle for solo ensamble compeitition on tenor saxophone, and my this song is beautiful.

The most beautiful and moving part of the Pictures at the Exhibition. Mussorgsky at his best. Night on Bald Mountain was impressive and powerful, but not so emotionally charged as this.
It is times like this that I'm thankful to love classical so much. The thought of missing this to focus on the latest music fad is painful to consider.

Never gets old I can seriously listen to it so many times cause defenetly beautiful I just love it. the first time I heard pictures at an exhibition I remember this was my favorite part so this summer I looked up for it I didn't remember the name I just knew it was something with a castle I didn't even remember the rhythm or anything and when I heard it again I was like ok know I know why I fell in love with it since the first time!
