an explanation of how my filters work

ive had lots of questions about these, so i decided to address them today.

Q: how much did they cost you?
A:$250, minus media.

Q:were they hard to build?
A:no, not at all. took a little less than 2hrs start to finish.

Q:do they work well?
A:i studied the design for almost 6 months before building, so i hope so. its a combination of a few systems and designs ive seen over the years. simple, and effective.

heres the parts needed to replicate this system.
4-55 gallon barrels, doesnt matter about which top it has.
2-1" bulkheads(for inlets)
6-1" male adapters
2-1" female adapters
2-1" ball valves
3-2"/5' long pvc pipe pieces
2-2" elbows
8-hose clamps
1-100' roll of 1" pipe
1-tube of 100% silicone sealant.

and thats it, cost me 100 for the barrels, and 150 for fittings and pipe

the plastic liner

@UnstopableRollerteam i bought it from a supplier off ebay. it was a huge 35x35 liner. was the most expensive part at just under $1000 for just it.

@acemanz888 i got mine off craigslist, but there are plastic suppliers online. try a local ad/craigslist first though.

@rickyeon the barrels hold filter media. in this vid they didnt have any, kind of a leak find/test run of it. not that this vid matters much, ill be building a DIY Bakki shower for it. still working on them, but a new vid will be out soon to show them, explain the new system. these barrels with filter media in them work excellent actually. thanks for the positives.

Looks like the barrels do nothing, the only filter you have is in the skimmer, or did I loose some info here, are you pumping from the bottom as well.Do you have any filters in the barrels. Nice job.

@gumper5242 yeah, the deck and edging is the only things really left, check out my more recent vids....alot more done since this vid.
