A video story of the Chinese writing systems as it is mainly used in Japan. However, the video includes the history, and explains how Kanji is written, as well as how it has long been used as a form of multi-media. The video touches on the Zen art Shodo, as well as the history of papermaking and printing in ancient China.

  • ...if you know what I mean?

    Sorry, my typing sucks.

  • Thank you, but I wrote it that way for the phonetic reading in English because sometimes the letter I is pronounced like hi, as in hi, how are you, if you know what?

  • I think your style shows u r methodical and well grounded, but of course I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about! Great video!

  • Very nice music and historical background for the art of kanji. Kanji can be daunting at times, but when you take time to reflect upon their history and cultural aspects in the language itslef, you recieve an appreciation for them both as an art and a logical system.

  • it's hii not hee ひ
