they're not punk anymore. but i still like them. correction- their last two albums weren't punk. american idiot was inspired by punk, but made it more complex, like modern rock with the punk mentality. i suppose still in the realm of punk if you think about the poppy tunes of some ramones and most of the clash. 21st century breakdown was a whole different beast--take it or leave it. i think its great, yet i still prefer the beautiful simplicity of their old shit.
