This particular recording was taken from PATTON VS. ZACH VS. ALCOHOL VS. PATTON, a 25-minute EP wherein Zach Galifinakis and Oswalt get really drunk and trade jibes with each other (culminating with what Oswalt refers to as "having a bad career-off"). Gilligan was a reference to Zach at that moment, and couldn't be cut from this particular audio track without sounding weird the way it goes into the audience laughter.
