@khantast1c, the brightness of the screen will also heavily affect the battery life. If you're using your macbook at full brightness, don't expect a long life. But if you drop the brightness by alot and don't use too many programs (and processor intensive programs at that), you can extend your battery life per charge.

i have a question. k so i just got a mac, and the ppl at the aaple store said that my macbook would provide 10 hours of battery life on a full charge , well on a full charge the longest the battery has lasted is 4 hours. why is that? am i doing something wrong?

the graphics thing only works if you have the better video card. it doesn't work if you have other macs, ex. my 13 inch macbook pro (june2009)
