  • @DominickDiy No the latest code (2011) requires a grounded conductor (neutral) at every switch . There is a big difference between a grounding conductor and a grounded conductor . The reason for the change is many modern switches (motion sensors) require constant power . I don't believe this is required where boxes are fed through conduit because the neutrals can be pulled in later if necessary.

  • @Megawatts37 in canada all switch boxes must be grounded but do not require a ground screw on the actual switch. our switches don't even come with a ground screw. it might be different for low rise residential though. i work high rise residential. (condos)
