@upwk7 I would not give him that much credit. He is a very sanctimonious self righteous person. Tolerates no dissent from his own view, because only he has divine wisdom.

@TheForwardGaze A very sanctimonious, self-righteous "Christian," who thinks that only he knows the answer, and that he alone knows God's will. If you oppose him, you must be opposing God? Rosalyn is just as self righteous. Writing of the 1977 inauguration in "First Lady from Plains, did she express humility at being elected to serve? No, she kept thinking, what a great and good president we are getting. I guess she thought we should be grateful he was willing to serve as President.

His "Farewell Address" was delivered in January, 1981, just before he left office. This sounds like the "malaise" speech, although it should be noted that Jimmy never used the word "malaise." That was Ted Kennedy's word for it the next morning. But this is Jimmy at his sanctimonious self-righteous best. He is convinced he has divine wisdom, so if you oppose Jimmy, you must be opposing God.

This sounds more like a sermon, rather than a presidential speech....he was right in what he said but he didn't have enough self-recognition to know He was The Problem.
-
A horrible horrible president...only eclipsed in his lack of leadership by the current resident of the White House.

President Carter could be right. Because in future time, U.S. Dollars may be just another confidence game or scheme. Or shortly say, con game.

The Same guy that pushed the community reinvestment act down our throats.

He's a good man...he just doesn't know how to run a country. Atleast he's 150 times better than barack

So long, snapper head. Looks like Obama will be shining your shoes next year.

Carter thanks God everyday for Barack Obama...He's no longer the worst President in history. LOL
Is this Carter's Farewell Address? It sounds like his infamous "Malaise" speech of mid-1979. Poor guy, he knew how to diagnose the problem, but he comes across as someone flailing ineffectually, not as a leader who had the situation in hand.
