  • And then some! Some might disagree, but suggest they be left to their own devices! Thanks so much for your mention!

  • Modern skating owes all to Sonja.

  • @zamusicza Thanks so much for your learned comment! She was truly unique!

  • the spin is spectacular . cannot trust anyone could spin that fast and long . awesome

  • @multisteeldiluch Put your trust in her! Though not a family member, there are those that are here that can vouch for her incredible performance! Great to hear from you, and many thanks!

  • anyone know the name of the music? this is brilliant. I LOVE IT :) (sonja i mean)

  • @KaKaFan89 It's actually 3 songs, then a repeat of the 1st. First is "Nobody's Sweetheart," then "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi," "I'll Get By,'' and then back to "Nobody's Sweetheart." So glad you enjoyed it! Best regards.

  • Oh my, can somebody really spin so fast????

  • @clayto1332 If you could have put Ms. Henie on the ice at her peak with some of todays best female skaters, Ms. H could still beat them in sheer speed across the ice, the speed at which she could achieve in her spins (except perhaps a select few gifted Swiss skaters) and her footwork is still exceptional by todays standadrs. The ONLY thing that has changed is the revolutions in the jumps. Don't fool yourself. Women in Sonja's day were criticized for jumping because it was "too masculine."

  • wow she could spin!

  • She's making me dizzy and the music is SO annoying- I'd pay not to see this

  • @multisteeldiluch I know. And it's so strange to see the position of her arms. It's fascinating to see how figure skating has changed since then!

  • Sonja was 33 years old here and skating better than most half her age

  • @patsysisk1 Anyone who says her skating is nothing compared to today doesn't know what they are talking about. For one thing, she was fast! She makes most of today's skaters look like ...well I won't say it. And her spins, while in a different style than today's spins, were amazing. They were perfectly centered, lightening-fast and she could stop on a dime. That "elevator" sit-spin is particularly great. The other thing she had was the "it" factor.
