Sacramento Mayoral Candidate Kevin Johnson speaks on Green Energy at the Clean Energy Showcase

Sacramento OBSNews.com Today at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) hundreds of companies gathered for the Clean Energy Showcase. These companies and the private equity and venture capital investors who help fund their efforts to develop innovative clean energy and green technology products and services gathered to network and display their achievements.

In addition to the businesspeople and investors attending the event, Sacramento mayoral candidate Kevin Johnson was present to demonstrate his support for the clean technology movement. Clean technology is an industry that is up and coming. Our region has over 100 clean technology companies. All this leads to more jobs and more economic development.

Johnson also stressed the importance of education, and, in particular, highlighted the role of CSUS and UC Davis as global academic powerhouses capable of educating the next generation of technological innovators as well as the business-minded entrepreneurs needed to take products and services from the idea stage to market.
