Driving a 1937 Lincoln-Zephyr coupe. Here we are prepping for the 2009 Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance. That's Ray Zudder from RKZ Enterprises (who hauled the car for us) talking to me through the window. The car was just finished, and I was getting used to shifting an older style transmission. The car has a flathead V12 and cable brakes, which actually work very well.

  • @RainbowLogic Why the F, would you want to be seen in a Honda. I'll take this all year long. Nice Licoln, and great color.

  • @METROPOLIfilms The Zephyr originally came in a sedan, coupe-sedan, coupe, coupe-convertible, there may have been others but they had all types to appeal to wide audiences

  • no rainbow logic, its not crazy. That car has only 3 gears.

  • what is up with the new zephyr? The zephyr was originally a 2 Seater with a v12. A sports car is what the description sounds like. So now they come with an everyday sedan?

  • It's crazy that a modern 4 cylinder honda civic has more power

  • @skaaltel Safety is the main reason I added three-point seatbelts to the car. Also, as swoopy as these old cars look, they don't make the best use of interior space and are not as aerodynamic as new cars. I wouldn't mind a modern daily driver that looked like the old cars, but I'm in the minority ;)

  • @jonghyun725 because people refused to drive cars that would kill them in minor accidents. Most every horrible styling feature from then til now has been either federally mandated for safety or a cost-cutting measure. High door lines, huge bumpers, featureless panels, no chrome, etc etc etc.

  • Gorgeous. Why don't American cars have curves like this anymore? They all look so boxy and angular these days, with little expressiveness or style.

  • beautiful automobile. i think that rear bumper needs some scrapes thoguh ;)

  • @jawa597 -- I sold a '38 Columbia set-up to Colin a few years back. Was it put in your car? If so, it is indeed a small world!
