This is the final project for ES450 at the United States Naval Academy; done by 1/C Connell and 2/C Eng from the Systems Engineering Department. This movie shows the incorporation of MatLab, ScorBot, and computer vision in order to 'monitor' a classroom. In theory the blocks represt students, the smaller ones would be awake students and the larger ones are asleep students. The camera is looking down on the classroom so the sleeping students would have a larger area due to the fact that they are laying on their desk. The task of the ScorBot is to 'nudge' the asleep student (but for safety purposes no Midshipmen were harmed in the making of this movie and stand in stick figures performed all their stunts). The MatLab printout would then give a record of the missing students. In MatLab we used the functions getsnapshot, computemoments, and ScorCartMove in order to take a picture of the classroom area, computes the area of the students (absent, awake, asleep) the asleep student would have a larger area and all the 'desks' in the room are in preprogramed locations that the large area would trigger.
