@mare544 You know why? Because Elvis had the X-factor and he was entertaining. He had something undescribable
Carl...offcourse he was great, but he was...well...just a ordinary man. That's the difference.
Like Tellling a joke. Let's say...you write and tells a joke and richard prior tells your joke. Who is the most succesfull? I think Richard.

Too bad we don't have music today like this that gets us all cheery and makes us dance with joy

Why nobody gives to Carl Perkins all the decoration he deserves?. He wrote lyrics, played his guitar very well and Elvis receives all homages for this song?

Yes I noticed that one string is broken, and Elvis was a bit in trouble. Without Scotty Moore he didn´t make it.

Easily the best video of that song

I remember the night this show aired and how my older sister, a Pat Boone fan, reacted. She just got tingles all over and didn't know why or what was happening.
Little did I know that just 7 years later I would be crossing the bay behind Elvis on a regular basis while I was assigned to Naval Station, North Island.

Has anyone noticed that Elvis broke a string half way through, he rips it away and carries on. And what a great showman Bill Black was!! Great video, thanks for posting it.
This is awesome. My dad was on the USS Hancock at this time and was assigned to Elvis during his time on the ship so he wouldn't get lost or hurt.

Four simple instruments + one Elvis = WOW!! No one could do this today - no one else could do it back then either, come to think of it. There is only one king of rock!!!
