Subhan'Allah. Your very fortunate to have known him. I never met him but from all the lectures and series that he has recorded I can tell he was a good man, very passionate about Islam. I hope you have the same passion that he had.

@mo389 Yes I knew him as a friend, a brother, and a mentor. He helped me in my early years of being a muslim in San Diego when I was 19year old young man. We spent rammadans together and would share plates. I knew him well. I never saw a better model as a muslim. I don't believe the bad things people say because I never saw that side of him. I only knew him as a gentle friendly person that I had respect for. I took my shahadah from him.

I was present at this lecture at Al ribat in San Diego. Anwar had a Presence in his hkubars that is too awesome to explain. All I can say was they were intense.. it was an imense help to me especially I could not speak arabic so to have someone who can speak so well in both arabic and english helped me to understand. But as a friend he was a kind person and was very wise beyond his years. This was instrument into me becoming Muslim. I personally learned islam from him and miss him dearly.
