To get the best result if you are heavy use the resistance and increasing adding more resistance and repetition. I have 50 more pounds that I want to lose and than I feel I will be able to do the pull up bar.

I had to use the band because I was unable at the the beginning to do a chin up. I am now able to do several but because of my age I really prefer the bands. Thanks for asking.
