This is presentation of Fable: The Journey!

At E3 2011 we showed our latest creation; Fable: The Journey. During the big Microsoft stage show Peter Molyneux went on stage to explain what we're trying to achieve. Shortly after the trailer (sorry for showing it again, and again) one of the Lionhead Studios devs played a bit of the game on the screen.

  • i'm not buying this

  • its all about the consumers, you dont make games for yourself thats a golden rule, you put some of yourself in the games e.g. style, approach, ideas, i know this because I study game design and programming, the game wont sell otherwise and not everyone shares your exact taste in games clearly as shown in these comments, there not making games for the gamers anymore, how do you go from fable 1 to this really? their targeting children & families now because that's where the money is

  • THIS ISNT FABLE, Start on a new game thats just like number 3, before get a serious let down when Fable:the Journey is released. THIS is not a journey nor an adventure, THIS IS A SHOOTER (with magic), terrible, wheres the RPG in this?!, oh thats right, you were aiming to create a game for "every age", its too casual, your loosing your fans, i bet you just lost all of your fans within the ages of 14-25. Fable 1 2 and 3 were perfection. Long lost now. And so is Fable its self.

  • @reissyboy64 The spirit of developers is to make a game they want to make. Other wise they would have no interest in doing it. Do you work at your job simply for the people or do you do it for the money/you enjoy it?

  • @PhoenixNest100 Actually Fable is whatever Lionhead makes it. All of you people who whine and bicker about "Its not like the original" No it never will be either. I would rather have a series that tries to do different things then a game who keeps to the same for the sake of your nostalgia.

  • The technology is interesting, the game is not.

  • I will remember Fable for Fable 1 and 3.

  • This would look like a pretty decent game for casual players to whom the fable franchise means absolutely nothing. But for a fan of the original fable this simply isn't very interesting. In my opinion lionhead takes a big step backwards by (at least it looks like it so far) taking out all the interaction with NPCs, the different and interesting side quests and the possibility to explore a phantastic open world. Fable should be at least remotely RPG-related, otherwise it's not fable anymore.

  • I want Lionhead to go back to it's roots, whether the publisher will allow them to do this is another story. I think they should have a go at reinventing the 1st Fable and Black and White, I don't mean a remake but a reimagining of them.

  • @BreitbachTheGerman Your opinion is wrong; just kidding of course but why do you think 2 is the worse? I think it's the best or tied with the 1st one. The 3rd one is the worst for me because the item system is just not very good.
