When will it blow? We'll know when I turn the boost up soon. Still waiting on my fuel pump to arrive. Just some sights and sounds of the turbo Iroc after getting the 3" Flowmaster catback on it. The new exhaust brought the boost up to 7.2 psi. Before long it will be 15 psi. For now it is pretty fun even with low boost because the rear tires are old and hard. I'm almost done using them and we'll throw some Fusion ZRI's on the back and then it's off to the dragstrip. Also at the very end of the video you can hear the $20 Ebay blowoff valve doing its job!

See my other vids for more into on the setup.

  • Hey i have a Chevy TPI and was wondering about how much did it cost you to do the whole turbo setup? like the total price, everything you had to pay for to turbo charge it. Thank you very much!

  • @Willielupo404 When I figured up what it would cost to duplicate everything I did to turbocharge the stock engine with the ebay T70 turbo, it came out at $3600. You'd need to build the transmission to handle it so that is an additional cost. If you go to Google and search for 'how much does it cost to turbocharge iroc", the first result should be my mentalsocket page. It has a breakdown of the parts and costs.

  • hey how do u get the burnout rubber off ur fenders?

  • @3rd4thgenFbody Let's just say it was a good thing the car is black. After painting my car I went to the drag strip. A friend of mine handed me blue masking tape, which I used over my silver stripe - but he didn't show up with it until I'd made a few passes.. so I have a spec or two that won't come off. In the future I will try using this 3m Liquid-Dry Masking that I'm using on the car during the engine bay paint.. I think it would work perfect by spraying on the morning of the track visit

  • thats sweet man, did it have that many miles on when you put the turbo on, you would think a turbo on an engine with that many miles would tear it apart.

  • @kcdadoughboy Thanks.. no, I had just gotten it running with the turbo when I shot this video. Now 10 months later it's still running strong, in fact I just got my intercooler installed completed and within a day the transmission started slipping in second. It's really making some decent power with the intercooler and 12 psi. I've put close to 4000 miles on it with the turbo, about to click over on 145k.

  • This car looks and sounds very fuckin show and weak in power,,

  • @zz3astro Thank you very much. I read all through your website last night actually. Its all awesome. I guess 3600 isn't that bad. Im don't know very much about transmission tweaking though. I actually Have a 1971 Chevelle that i had put a tpi in out of a wrecked corvette. computer and all and it runs strong and great but i really wanted to turbo it for as low as possible. I'm sure i will need transmission work though. right now i got a muncie 4 speed in it

  • @zz3astro ya i wish i would thought of something like that my fenders have quiet a bit on them and i dont wanna ruin them by trying to scrape it off... ill probly just have to leave it on

  • That Car Is Sick Now I Kinda Wish Id Kept My Red One LOL

  • hmmm maybe i might just have to throw an turbo on my 5.0 iroc, whats an recomended turbo to use and how much did you pay for your turbo + intercooler? sweet vid though!
