geez people are complaining about sunrise dances being recorded?. people are gonna record nd take pictures nd then post them on the internet, whether you like it or not! whether the medicine man said it's okay or not, or whether its respect or disrespect. ur words don't go very far, so there's no use in complaining. it's just a waste of ur time. so enjoy the video nd get over it!!

@Scabzilla49 Hobbyists and new-agers are some very scary people; why do you think people don't want these dances to be filmed and uploaded to Youtube? It's sacred, especially these Sunrise dances. Too many peopled suffered and died to preserve it. We owe it to our ancestors and elders to revere and preserve it too!

Some people/dancers see something and think its cool and try to copy, without any regard to its spiritual meaning and importance. Like those hobbyists that wear otter turbans or steal ribbonwork/beadwork designs.

@dawnblueclover Yeah they used to be banned as well as anything that wasn't "white" or fit into "white" society. But powwows were never sacred..... They were and still are mainly just social events.... Just nowadays you have to pay to get in.

vids is the future and we cant hide it, and y get mad.....its secrest my ass, then y was san carlos ranked the number one most alkee town out of all rezes....mary kim titla recorded it at her dance like in 08....and nbc showed footage?...wtf..theres peeps that wanna know about apaches and i cant document it, they need to see it.....and some cuz of the geronimo thing with bin landen
