Chace Crawford in Footloose Movie. Who will co-star - Miley Cyrus?

Let's hear it for the boy - Chace Crawford is officially signed on to star in the upcoming remake of Footloose and we've got all the details.

Hey guys - I'm Joslyn Davis for Clevver TV coming to your from our Beverly Hills studio. Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford is set to start filming Footloose. Chace Crawford recently landed the role after Zac Efron dropped out of the movie. Chace Crawford obviously has the looks to play the part, but does he have the moves? We all know that Zac Efron has incredible dance skills, but even Gossip Girl fans are a bit skeptical about Chace Crawford's ability to fill the dancing shoes of Kevin Bacon. Maybe Chace just hadn't had the chance to show the world what he's really made of-after all the director of this film is Kenny Ortega who choreographed "Dirty Dancing," so chances are Crawford probably knows what he's doing.

Also rumored to be getting in on the Footloose action is Miley Cyrus. According to E News, the 16 year old star is in the mix, as far as casting is concerned, AND that the filmmakers have expressed an interest in adding her to the cast. But Miley has some stiff competition. Amanda Bynes and Hayden Panetierrre are also rumored to have auditioned for the female lead in the film. We also hear that Dancing with the stars standout Julianne Hough also auditioned for the coveted part.

what makes me mad about remaking classics like this is a lot of kids haven't even seen the original Footloose so they will see this first and if they do get to see the original they will say it is no good
