  • Friction primer, same kind as used during the Civil War.

  • how much would one of these cost?

  • @mikes47jeep There is one for sale at some site now for $30K, but I'd be wary of any internet seller you can't contact via phone or find out where they are physically located.

  • Yes they are legal even in Kalif.

  • What are the laws concerning working antiques like this?

  • @Snipe4261 none.

  • You've got the wrong country, look again:

Austrian means having to do with Austria, not Australia.

  • What kind of technology did they use to achieve the rifling? Seems very well done.

  • 3:45 is that an English guy talking? :O I would love to move to America so I could do stuff like this.

  • Was it build in Habsburger time?

    Austrian King.

NOT Australia ! Austria has NO Kangaroos! Austria has Wiener Schnitzel and Alps. ;)

  • ok i hav 2 questions

firstly what is the point of swabbing the bore? i mean does it increase the accuracy?

secondly how do u decide how much powder to use? ive always thought the more powder u use, the better it is

  • An old car to shoot at would be nice....

  • @Snipe4261 Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying, had it wrong.

  • @partsproduction I'm not suggesting the government should regulate things like this; I'm merely expressing my surprise that they don't. After all, if I want to go out and buy a new black powder rifle I would still have to submit to a government imposed background check, and if I wanted a modern functioning artillery piece I'm making a reasonable guess that civilians can't legally own them at all. But if I wanted a functioning antique cannon there is no restriction at all. It's surprising.
