Tutorial: How to Play First Solo from Claptons acoustic "Layla" (live version)

chords over the solo: Dm, Bb, C, Dm

hopefully this video will accomplish what most tabs can't: to give you a solid understanding of the RHYTHM involved in your solos. i emphasize throughout the video that you need to focus on the notes that fall on the DOWNbeats, as they are the "anchors" that keep your solo grounded and in synch with the rhythm section.

as for the picking hand, you should be using a technique called "alternate-picking," which, of course, means you should be alternating between down-strokes and up-strokes on each note (for the most part)

always practice w/ a metronome, and start really slow! its good advice, trust me!
