12 hours of game auction fun condensed into 10 minutes! Yes, you heard me right, I did say "12 hours"!!! They had almost twice the number of items in this year's auction (versus last year's), in a room that only sat about 30 people (which meant it was standing-room only for many). Here's hoping that the KublaCon staff paid attention and Rick & Co. get a 2-day auction (and a larger room)! Enjoy the video! ***IMPROVED, HIGHER RESOLUTION UPLOAD ***

  • @ Ogma01 I agree with you completely regarding the online retailer. That particular online reseller has been at a number of game auctions I've been to and ruined them for me. I pay for a con admission partly to have the opportunity to go to the auction. I don't want to sit through a reseller stocking his online store. It's tedious and irritating. Thanks for posting the video!

  • @MrSkullhead1 I have a NUMBER of friends who have quit coming to the auction because they know there is little chance of their getting anything with "that guy" in the room. He outbids EVERYONE, even children. It's one thing if there's a guy buying a few things to turn around on ebay, it's quite another to buy THOUSANDS of dollars worth of merchandise just to overprice and resell on his commercial website. It shouldn't be allowed or, at the very least, it should somehow be regulated.

  • @MrSkullhead1 Yes, I experienced this clown's shenanigans at Origins last year, as well. Not sure who actually buys stuff from his site. I can honestly say that I have never patronized his company myself.

  • The one annoying thing not seen in this video is that for the past couple years, an online game retailer has been attending this auction and 90% of the time he outbids people solely to acquire stock for his store. I am REALLY growing tired of this as it prevents people from buying items that they will likely play that day/night.

I wish this practice could be ended. It simply isn't fair. Most people come to the auction with few bucks to spend and this guy comes with THOUSANDS. It's not right.

  • wow I wish I could have been there, nothing that like that in the UK

  • @cptmachine I didn't do any taping this year (the con was this past weekend), but the auction went about 8 or 9 hours versus 12. Game-wise, I played a lot of great stuff, ran a game on Sunday and just had an amazing time with good friends.

  • @Ogma01 I sent an email to KublaCon mentioning how it's unfair to average attendees and it saps the enjoyment out of the auction. I don't expect anything to change, especially since they're a paying vendor, but I made my voice heard for what it's worth. He does the same thing at auctions everywhere. Good to hear that I'm not the only one who gets irked by this. If they dominate the auction again this year, I may stop attending KublaCon, as it is one of the main things I look forward to.

  • I havent seen this vid.....

    That is awesome!!!

So much stuff. I really liked that at the end...the idea of a permanent record of who has played the game....very cool. ^_^

Thanks for reposting this...I might not have ever seen it if you didnt.

  • FYI, this is the same video I posted last year, just re-rendered at a higher resolution and better quality audio. Enjoy!
