Never understood why people drop bank on replica guitars, why would you want somebody else's exact guitar. kinda lame in my opinion, music is much more exciting when you are original and come up with your own sound, style and guitar preference

@cavajason maybe because not everybody is like you (thank God). look genious, just because you see somebody doing a cover, doesn't mean they can't or don't have their own style and write their own music. I write tons of stuff and none of it sounds like Eddie. And BTW, everybody learns covers, that's how you learn music. Eddie played Clapton note for note. and if he posted it on youtube, I suppose you would have made the same comment.

@cavajason Probably because the artists in question have spent big bucks developing the original guitars - usually way above and beyond the perameters of the basic Strat/Les Paul etc - and people want to buy that development. And if the world was only about originality, nobody would have bought the second Gibson Les Paul, nobody would have strived to emulate hendrix hystrionics, nobody else would have picked up on double tapping etc.

@cavajason - I never understand why some people think everyone thinks the same way they do. Maybe some people don't aspire to be the next big thing but instead feel great and happy about playing along to the music of people that inspire them. Maybe it is even more fun for them to play the same guitar because it makes it even more of a tribute and more motivation to play. Don't be an elitist. Let the guy play what he wants, how he wants and you do the same.
