If you travel you will find that most countries are racist, and I'd say most are FAR more racist than Oz. We don't have the far-right-wing loonies that live in Europe and Japan (We had "One Nation" -- it died due to lack of votes) No banning holocaust deniers, or representations of swastikas --we don't need to. You aren't banned from government jobs for not being the right ethnic group, as is the case in Malaysia. This is a multicultural society with a low-crime rate.

australia is pretty different each 100-meters squared. racism around the place is more "I got frustrated, things were said." than "Frick the rest of the world."
My father is a racist, but mainly since he uses anything avaliable to insult people.
Considering it's a dump-all for every culture I'd say it's doing decently.
An irishman, an australian and an indonesian walked into a bar, they got drunk. that is all.

@MegaEasternman Yes you're right. I've been to Dubrovnik. Nice place. There are plenty of Aussies there. The croatians are not really racist you know and everyone is welcome to join in the party by the sea. Everyone's welcome in Croatia!
