The "original" gary coleman, a guy who played in an american tv show, was a black guy, and the writers of avenue q thought it would be funny, to use a white woman to play the role. they ended up with a black one, but still a woman. in later casts they also had men performing gary coleman...so '"she" is originally meant to be a guy

In this video, Garry's a woman, not a guy, and when Trekkie said, "All these guys unzip their flies for porn, porn, porn" was actually weird about the woman version Garry..
