@dirtydonki I don`t know how you tested them to be able to tell that the z4 outperforms the Boxster, but I know for certain that it doesn`t. It`s by far too heavy and chunky to do that. As an example I´d like to show you the their times around the Nürburgring Nordschleife which is, at least here in Europe, one important factor in comparing sportscars, as that is the most difficult track in the world:

Boxster S: 8:23 min / Z4 3.0si: 8:32 min

You`d need the Z4 M to beat it.

My wifde & I have one of each. Z4 3.0 & Boxter 3.2S. The Z4 is faster and out performs the Boxster everytime but the Boxster is nicer to drive & more practical. I love 'em both but the wife loves the Boxster. At the end of the day its horses for courses.

ridiculous coments..have you ever driven the bmw z4 in the same conditions as the porsche boxster? i really gives the lead to bmw..but that's just my opinion..and yes, i agree with bimes1987, you can not compare hard top roof vs soft roof..and of course it takes 8 more seconds, its heavy equipment, i'd like to see the boxster opening a hard cover roof in 20 seconds

if you don't know how to evaluate cars, then do not do it and do not steal jobs from people who actually know how to do it :S

I've tested drive the new Z4 3.5is when it first came out. The car seems alittle too heavy overall even with the extra 35hp on the 3.5is it still feels bit too heavy. It may also feels like the 135i. Personally I would prefer the new SLK or 2012 new boxster if you really want a nice refine roadster. SLK is more luxury with the new magic sky option that's alittle better than just the hardtop converitable. The new Boxster has more agilty and handling. New Z4 is sitting at the embarrassing point.
