hi Colin,
I love your videos. I am making a bowl back mandolin currently out of paper mache and wood. I was wondering on this on did you use a through the body design with the neck? Thanks.

hi! this video makes me want to build a cigar box mando...
can you tell me basic informations for that project?
(bracing pattern, scale, neck inside the box etc.)

General rule of thumb is to multiply it by 2
So $60-80 for a uke and $120-140 for a mandolin. Not too shabby, I'd say.

do you know how many dollars that is

Wow
that sounds great - thanks for posting!

Sounds interesting! I've often thought of using paper mache but never got round to it. I used a sort of through body neck, in which the neck was recessed so it didn't touch the top except at the heel and neck block. So it functioned pretty much like the pole in a banjo.

Haha, only when someone else played it, sadly.

Certainly do! As a rough guide a ukulele would cost about £30-40 and a mandolin £60-70.
