I always wondered if you could actually defeat a Yale lock using a plastic Credit Card, and so decided to try it one day. The idea is simple enough, just takes a bit of practice.

  • yeah it was definetely unlocked, and im sure he fitted the door himself so that he could fit a card down the side. wot a loser lolol

  • Funny I don't remember you being there when I did the video? Maybe you were hiding around the corner? Only way you'd know it was DEFINATELY unlocked. It's not like I'm making a sensational claim here, it's just some play in the fitting. There are plenty of other videos on YouTube about this process.

  • Jeeze guys, it's real. Read my other comments below. What's sound got to do with it being real or not anyway!? Many more comments like this and I might as well take the damn thing down!

  • the door was open all the time

  • It would have been easier wouldn't it :)

    Read my reply below.

  • look at the door when he closes it the door opens up a bit

  • Ah, that's just because there is a little bit of play in the latch and strike plate. Nice to see people finding this crappy vid after nearly a year! Thanks for the comments one and all

  • My door is just like this. You lock it, but it has play in it.

  • Haha well I'm satisfied the door was locked. If it wasn't it woulda just swung open. Those doors lock automatically when they're shut anyways...

  • try to use that trick on japanese locks

  • These guys are crazy.

This is one of the most commonly used techniques out there. It's the first method I try when I come up against a locked door.

  • Definitely real! I live in a shared house with Yale locks on the bedroom doors. I don't have a key for mine, so have to leave it on the latch.

I forgot to earlier, and got locked out. Managed to get in VERY quickly with a card.

  • in theory this is how it is actually done. I tried it after my neighbour locked herself out the house. i almost done it if i had pushed the door. But i never! In the end i called out a locksmith and he got a square piece of plastic a bit bigger than a credit card and slid it inbetween the lock, then once he had it in position he pushed the door and bingo.

  • lolol i was only playin with u bro coz u said ud remove it if u got any more comments like that haha. i know it aint a set up just fukin wit u :P
